Assam: Fake Note Racket Busted By Jorhat Police, Two Arrested

The police seized a hundred rupees denomination FICNs with a value of Rs 13, 200 along with a computer and a printer.

Jorhat: The Jorhat police has arrested two persons in connection to a fake currency racket case.

The two accused identifies as Md Shariful Hussain and Md Yashin Hussain have been arrested for printing, possessing and circulating fake notes. Md Shariful Hussain is a resident of Jorhat while Md Yashin Hussain is a resident of Golaghat.

The police recovered 100 rupees denomination FICNs (Fake Indian Currency Notes) with a total value of Rs 13,200 from their possession.

Also, a computer and a printer have also been also seized from the duo.

The news was informed by the Jorhat police on their official Twitter handle. The tweet read, "Md Shariful Hussain r/o Jorhat & Md Yashin Hussain r/o Golaghat are arrested in connection with printing, possession and circulation of Fake Notes. Recoveries 1.100 Rs denomination FICNs(value ₹13,200) 2. One Computer+one printer."

Earlier in September, a fake certificate racket was busted by the Nagaon Police while investigating a case of dacoity.

About 10,000 -12,000 duplicate certificates of all kinds were recovered by the police from the fake certificate chain.
