Assam: Fatal Clash Between DNLA Cadres and Police Claims Life in Dima Hasao

GUWAHATI: A confrontation between members of the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) and the police led to the loss of one DNLA cadre's life and left two others injured in Dima Hasao district, Assam. The incident occurred during the early hours of Friday, September 15, at the designated DNLA camp in Maibang.

According to preliminary reports, tensions escalated around 1:30 am on September 15 when a clash erupted between DNLA insurgents and law enforcement officers. The confrontation quickly spiraled into a violent encounter, resulting in the unfortunate death of one DNLA cadre, identified as Abhijit Hapila, also known as Ali Dimasa. Alongside this tragic loss of life, two other individuals sustained injuries during the crossfire.

The injured parties have been identified as Thomas Nunisa, alias Rembo Dimsa, and Dibaron Johoril, alias Thinjhon Dimasa. Following the incident, they were promptly transported to the Haflong Civil Hospital in Dima Hasao district for urgent medical treatment.

This harrowing incident underscores the ongoing security challenges faced by authorities in Assam, particularly in regions like Dima Hasao, where various insurgent groups operate.
