Assam: Father Assaults 5 Months Old Baby, Gets Arrested

GUWAHATI: In a sad occurrence, a 5-month-old baby was violently abused by his own father in the Kahilipara neighbourhood of Guwahati city, causing several fractures to his fragile body.

Anikesh Goswami, the father, is accused of abusing the child for an unspecified cause.

Due to fractures in his arms and legs, the infant is currently receiving treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

According to the medical professionals caring for the infant, he is now cognisant and crying regularly. The mother is also nursing the infant.

The accused father has been detained by the city police, who have also filed a complaint against him in accordance with the necessary laws.

The accused has spent the last five months residing with his wife and child in a leased residence in Kahilipara. This shocking escalation's cause has not yet been determined.

Everybody has denounced the father's horrible actions. The incident serves as a reminder that it is up to the community to keep an eye out for and make sure that such horrible deeds do not go unpunished.

In order to stop more instances of child abuse and cruelty to children, the police and medical communities have made an appeal to the public.

On Thursday night, a young man's body was discovered lying on the flyover that connects Guwahati Club and B Barooah Road. According to accounts, the young person's body was discovered laying on the flyover's sidewalk.

The police have determined that the youth is Lutfur Rahman, a Goalpara native who moved to Guwahati just a few weeks ago. The deceased was transported to GMCH for an autopsy, according to Paltan Bazar police officers. The officers further mentioned that the youth died from a drug overdose.
