GUWAHATI: An FIR was filed against the movie Pathaan on Monday at the Geetanagar police station in Guwahati by the Hindu organization Kutumb Surakha Parishad. The Parishad complained against the film because of the song "Besharam Rang."
"Safron, the primary hue of the national flag, is also a venerable representation of the broader Sanatana Dharma. However, the way it was depicted in the film "Pathaan" is extremely upsetting, according to Satya Ranjan Borah, the organization's founding president.
He asserted that "Safron," the national emblem, the colour of India's rich cultural history, and the symbol of the millions of sacrifices made by Indian monks, cannot be a "Besharam Rang" (shameless colour) as depicted in the film. The producer, director, performers, and the rest of the cast and crew of the movie have offended the nation, national pride, Sanatan Dharma, and the noble and selfless sacrifice of the monks by doing this. The movie also disobeys Article 51 A of the Indian Constitution.
Satya Ranjan Borah wrote in the FIR, "We request to you politely to enquire about the matter prior to transmission and public presentations of the movie "Pathaan," and until then you are requested to refrain from holding any type of public screening of the film for the sake and honour of the Indian Constitution.
According to sources, Bajrang Dal activists recently entered Narengi's LG Towers and forcibly removed posters advertising the upcoming film "Pathaan." Posters were later burned, and dome furniture was damaged. The protestors also urged the proprietors of the movie theatres not to show the movie while chanting "Jai Shri Ram."
The group members yelled anti-movie chants and tore down Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone posters, who play the primary leads in the movie. The dispute erupted after Madhya Pradesh's home minister, Narottom Mishra, voiced his disapproval of the song "Beshram Rang," which appears in the film.
