DOOMDOOMA: Once again a junior had to be a victim of a Senior officer's anger as a forest guard in Doomdooma had to lose an eye after being hit by the DFO (Divisional Forest Officer) of Doomdooma.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when the DFO allegedly slapped the forest guard multiple times blowing off the poor guard's eyeball from its socket.
The victim identified as Hemakanta Hatimuria rushed to the First Referral Unit (FRU) in Doomdooma after the incident, leaving him visionless by the blow and bleeding from his left eye.
On top of that, the unfortunate forest guard was also suspended from his service without any further notice.
Speaking to the media, victim Hemkanta Hatimuria said, "I was called on by the Doomdooma DFO Rajendra Prasad Bharati at his office where he verbally abused me and slapped me twice for no reason. Due to this, my left eye popped out of the socket and I was rushed to Doomdooma FRU for treatment. The DFO has suspended me from my duty and issued a suspension order."
While narrating the incident the victim also further alleged that the DFO hit him after he and his team were unable to seize a wood-laden truck during the regular patrolling.
Meanwhile, Hemakanta had surgery and a prosthetic eye was implanted in his eye socket and was prescribed medicines for quick healing.
In a similar incident in Kolhapur, Maharashtra earlier this year in March a forest guard who was on his weekly off when his senior and Ranger reached the place where the guard was enjoying his holiday and had an argument where the senior grabbed the forest guard by his collar and whacked him with his shoe multiple times.
The forest guard later filed a complaint at a police station in Sangli District where he was on his holiday. The police took necessary action after that.
