TINSUKIA: Dipti Das, former chairperson of Tinsukia Municipal Board (TMB), breathed her last at her Dahotia Chuk residence on Thursday due to prolonged illness. She was 50.
She served the BJP-led Tinsukia Municipal Board from 4.4.2015 to 4.4.2020. She represented ward number 8 of TMB. Das leaves behind three children and her husband Dipak Das, who is also the former chairman of TMB. Her untimely death was deeply mourned by various organizations and individuals, including Pabitra Gogoi, chairman of TMB, Sanjoy Kishan, local MLA and minister, Pulak Chetia, secretary of Tinsukia district BJP, besides others.
