Assam: Four drug peddlers from Manipur arrested by Cachar police

Acting on specific information, the Cachar police, along with the CRPF, had arrested four people from a hotel and recovered 40,000 Yaba tablets from their possession.

Silchar: Acting on specific information, the Cachar police, along with the CRPF, had arrested four people from a hotel and recovered 40,000 Yaba tablets from their possession. Police SP Nomal Mahato said they had received information that some persons were staying at a hotel in the Premtola area carrying suspected narcotics substances. Accordingly, a raid was conducted along with 147 Bn. CRPF, and during the search, four packets containing 40,000 Yaba tablets were recovered. Police also arrested four, including two females. They had been identified as Sofia Hatneithem (32), of Tuibong in Churachandpur of Manipur, and Chinneichong Haokip (27), of Saikul area of Kangpokpi district. The other two were Lunginmang Haokip (30), Saikul, Kangpokpi, and Liansanga Lunkim (27) of Churachandpur, Manipur.
