Assam: G-20 quiz contest organized by Tezpur University

In keeping with the G-20 summit presently being held in Delhi, Tezpur University on Saturday organized a quiz competition among the students in the Council Hall. The contest witnessed an enthusiastic participation of more than 250 students in the screening test.

TEZPUR: In keeping with the G-20 summit presently being held in Delhi, Tezpur University on Saturday organized a quiz competition among the students in the Council Hall. The contest witnessed an enthusiastic participation of more than 250 students in the screening test. The final round was held among six teams selected on the basis of a preliminary round of questions. Inaugurating the programme, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh said, “We should all be proud of the country’s Presidency of this august body specially formed for all-round development.” He said that very soon this body would become G-21 as African union is also slated to join it which would expand the organization’s scope further. He also expressed hope that under the country’s leadership, G-20 would be able to scale new heights in terms of all-round development.

Prof. Tridiv Ranjan Sarma, Head of the Department of Business Administration from TU, conducted a highly interesting and engaging quiz contest that drew upon art, culture, politics of the country as well as G-20 issues in general. There were four rounds of in the contest with equally exciting quizzes and also a lot of questions for the audience. The programme was organized by the National Service Scheme of the University led by its Coordinator Prof. Amiya Kumar Das from the Sociology Department. It was also attended by Dr Biren Das, Registrar of the university. In all, three prizes were given for the contest with two consolation prizes also.
