Assam: Girl's Body Found Inside Well In Karbi Anglong, Investigation On

According to sources, local police arrived at the scene along with the magistrate and started an inquiry.

GUWAHATI: Officials in Assam's Karbi Anglong district said on Monday that in a tragic event, the dead body of a young girl was found in a well. It has been reported that the incident happened in the state's Karbi Anglong district's at No. 2 Nam Bokolia hamlet in Bokoliaghat close to Diphu.

After the murdered girl's body was discovered buried inside the well, the neighborhood's residents were shocked. After receiving notification, the authorities went to the crime scene. Up until the crime's exact nature becomes clear, the victim's identity will remain a secret. The victim's family is reportedly on the run in the meantime.

According to sources, along with the magistrate, local police responded to the scene and started an inquiry. More information is awaited.

Additionally, a girl's severed body was recently discovered on Silchar's Kathal Road in another incident. Locals reportedly found the body first and promptly alerted the police, who then arrived on the scene and sent the body to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy. The girl had torn and dispersed hair and was wearing a green t-shirt and black jeans. On the other side of the street, her slippers were discovered.

More than 1,330 unidentified bodies have reportedly been found throughout the state since 2010, according to state police reports. Alarming is the sudden increase over the previous five years. 45 of these remains were found between 2010 and 2012. The number quickly increased to 1,288 in only the two years that followed. 

"Assam witnessed the discovery of at least 15 unidentified bodies in 2010 and another 19 in 2011. There were 11 such organizations in 2012 "based on home department records. The numbers then experience a sudden increase. 2013 saw the recovery of 276 unidentified bodies, while 2014 saw the discovery of 499. Although the data for 2015 has not yet been formally gathered, sources estimate that there were 513 incidents.
