UDALGURI: The Udalguri district committee of Assam Gorkha Sanmelan (AGS) has demanded immediate arrest of those who had allegedly demanded money from Dambar Bahadur Darjee, an inhabitant of Jangal Borigaon village in Udalguri.
Ramesh Dahal, the president, and Bhuban Dhamala, the general secretary of AGS Udalguri district committee, have vehemently condemned the incident and said that even after a fortnight, the police had failed to book the people who had demanded the money in the name of ULFA (I). The organization also urged the police administration to take stringent action against the alleged harassment of people belonging to the Gorkha community in the area.
