UDALGURI: A joint meeting of BTC region committee of All Assam Gorkha Students' Union (AAGSU) and Assam Gorkha Sanmellan (AGS) was held at Udalguri Arya Samaj Bhavan to demand inclusion of the Gorkha community of Assam in the aboriginal category.

The meeting was presided over by Dilu Sarma, the president of BTC region AGS. Participating in discussion, John Chouhan, the president of BTC AAGSU, raised concern over the undermining of the demand of the Gorkha community people of Assam. Pitambar Pathak, the general secretary of BTC AGS committee, also expressed his concern over the attitude of the 6th schedule advisory committee which allegedly ignored the plea of the aboriginal Gorkhas.
