Assam Government Issues revised guidelines, removes Weekend Lockdown

Students of class 9 to 12 are allowed to visit their schools on voluntary basis and with written consent of parents for guidance from teachers only.

In view of containing the spread of Covid-19 across Assam, the state government has issued fresh guidelines on September 4 for COVID-19 unlock in Assam. The order shall remain in force till midnight of 30th September, 2020.

The revised guidelines have been issued "with the objective of containing the spread of COVID19 in the state of Assam, various orders under Disaster Management Act were issued prohibiting certain activities with the objective of preventing spread of Corona Virus."

Here is the list of revised guidelines to be followed across Assam:

Schools, Colleges, educational and coaching centres for regular class activities will remain closed till 30 September 30.

Online and distance learning activties are allowed to continue.

Students of class 9 to 12 are allowed to visit their schools on voluntary basis and with written consent of parents for guidance from teachers only.

50% of teaching and non-teaching staff are allowed to attend educational institutions at a time for one line teaching/tele-counselling and realted works only in areas outside of containment zones.

Skill and entrepreneurship training will be permitted with strict compliance of Covid-19 protocols and in line with guidelines issued by MHA, Government of India.

Public transport will be allowed to operate starting from September 7 with strict compliance of social distancing and other Covid protocols.

Social/Academic/Sports/Entertainment/Cultural/Religious/Political functions shall be allowed with the gathering of maximum of 100 persons at a time.

Cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres and similar places shall remain closed.
