Assam Government Signs MoU With IIM Bangalore for Chief Minister's Young Professional Program

GUWAHATI : The Assam Government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the IIM Bangalore on 14th November 2022. The main agenda of this collaboration is to bring about visible changes in the field of health, education and child and women development. 

The MoU was signed for Assam's Chief Minister's 'Young Professional Programme' 2023-25. Samir Kumar Sinha, on behalf of Assam government and Director of IIM Bangalore Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, on behalf of of IIMB signed the memorandum to build a group of committed and competent leaders to support the administration of the government. 

The Chief Minister's Young Professional Programme aimed at providing support to the district administration in order to improve programme delivery in sectors such as health, education, women and child development. The project has envisioned for inviting the newer generation, young professionals to help the transformative changes in Assam starting from the District Level.

According to the reports, the CMYPP will consist of 75 professionals, two professionals for 35 districts each. An exam will be conducted to select candidates for the cohort.

Sarma considered this to be one of the most significant day in the administrative history of Assam. He further said that the memorandum if understanding would hold a lot of capacity for the overall growth and development of the state, as the concept has never been conceived by the government before to support the district administration to improve program delivery in the mentioned sector. He also shows his gratitude towards the cooperation of IIMB and believes that it would go a long way in achieving the project goal.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Assam and other Northeast states have seen immense growth and progress in various sectors of the society. The State's Gross State Domestic Products (GSDP) has doubled in the past five years. It indicates that the rapid growth in the economic scenario of Assam can achieve it's desired goal soon and also contribute in the growth and development of the Country as well, stated Samir Kumar Sinha.
