Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi visits Hare Krishna Mandir, North Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi along with the First lady of Assam Prem Mukhi on the occasion of Janmashtami paid a visit to the Hare Krishna Mandir at North Guwahati today and paid his obeisance to the Lordship for the welfare of all sections of the people of the state.

Prof Mukhi said, "Lord Krishna is the symbol of Dharma, Karma and Truth. He is the ultimate teacher who guides everyone to face any hurdle in life with dignity and grace. May his noble teachings of righteous conduct and action inspire every one of us to strengthen the moral foundations of our society."

The Governor who had also visited Akshaya Patra Foundation hailed the efforts of the foundation in feeding nutritious food to hundreds of school-going children. He also lauded the efforts of the Akshaya Patra Foundation which strives hard unrelentingly to prepare hygienic and nutritious food for the school children.

Reaching there at Akshaya Patra Foundation, Governor Prof. Mukhi took stock of the different facilities there. He visited the kitchen room, and the store room and took stock of different parameters that the Foundation puts in place to ensure hygiene and nutrition for the students. He also took a look at the kitchen appliances and kitchen wares that the Foundation uses to prepare food.

Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor SS Meenakshi Sundaram, DC Kamrup Keerthi Jalli, members of the Akshay Patra Foundation along with other officials were also present during the visit, a press release said.
