He also asserted that the Assam government has decided to send at least 1,000 youths to the Cellular Jail located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The Cellular Jail, also known as Kālā Pānī, was a colonial prison in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India.

Further, the CM said that Rs 10,000 crores will be provided for improving infrastructure in all Govt High and Higher Secondary schools in Assam.

Speaking about the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' movement, Sarma said self-help groups in the state have sold 42 lakh flags with a total cost of around 17 crores.

The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign commenced on Saturday and will run till today. The programme envisages inspiring Indians everywhere to hoist the national flag at their homes.

The aim of the programme is to make the relationship with the national flag a more personal one rather than just keeping it formal or institutional.
