The Assam Government has announced half-holiday on Thursday on account of the
funeral of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
The State government announced the half-holiday at 1 pm on November 26 as a mark of respect to the departed former Assam Chief Minister and Congress veteran leader.
According to the notice issued by the Govt of Assam during this period all state govt offices, semi govt offices, public sector undertakings, corporations, boards, educational institutions, etc. will remain closed.
The move is also to allow people to attend the funeral of the longest-serving chief minister of the state.
