GUWAHATI: The Assam government has decided to allot land for the laboratory which will exclusively dedicate itself to high-quality testing of spices in Guwahati.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is meeting with the Species Board India also discussed the need for infrastructural and entrepreneurship development for the spices sector in the state.
Besides allocating suitable land in Guwahati for setting up a spice quality lab, the government of Assam will also organize a conclave for potential spices' exporters in Assam.
Agriculture, Horticulture etc Minister Atul Bora, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary Agriculture Vinod Seshan, functionaries from Spices Board were present at the meeting.
The meeting was held at State Guest House 1 in Koinadhora in Guwahati.
On the other hand, to promote bamboo-based industries in Assam, launched a scheme for the distribution of toolkits to bamboo artisans of the state.
Also, distributed advanced toolkits to a few bamboo artisans to mark the start of this. The kits will be provided to 772 such artisans.
