Assam: Guwahati Police Apprehend Chain-Snatching Miscreants Who Injured High Court Advocate

GUWAHATI: In a significant development, Guwahati Police have successfully apprehended two armed individuals who were responsible for a harrowing chain-snatching incident involving a Gauhati High Court advocate. The incident occurred on a seemingly peaceful morning in the Rajgarh area, where the brave advocate, Momita Bora, was out for her daily walk.

According to reliable sources, Momita Bora noticed two unfamiliar young men on a motorcycle who appeared to be constantly staring at her during her morning walk on October 9. Initially, she paid little heed to their presence, thinking they were harmless passersby. However, when she returned home, her day took a distressing turn as one of the miscreants boldly approached her. He swiftly snatched her precious gold chain, sending shockwaves through the serene neighborhood.

Fueled by courage, the advocate made a valiant attempt to apprehend the criminals and reclaim her stolen jewelry. However, one of the assailants produced a handmade pistol from his pocket, brandishing it menacingly against her chest. Fearful for her life, she was compelled to step back, which ultimately led to her falling to the ground. The fall resulted in severe injuries to her leg, wrist, and hand.

Remarkably, the entire sequence of events was captured by nearby CCTV cameras, providing vital evidence that would later prove invaluable in bringing the culprits to justice. These images would ultimately lead to the swift identification of the miscreants.

In a commendable display of law enforcement prowess, the Guwahati Police acted swiftly and decisively. Their efforts culminated in the apprehension of the two bike-borne armed miscreants who had terrorized the High Court advocate. Additionally, they managed to seize the Pulsar motorcycle used by the criminals during the chain-snatching incident. This bike bore the registration number AS01 BQ 8345, providing further evidence to tie the culprits to the crime.
