Guwahati: Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC) on Wednesday (January 6) released routine for the Higher Secondary final year examination 2021.
The exams for all three semester-Science, Arts, and Commerce will start from May 11. The practical exams will be held from April 20 to May 5. The last day of the exam is June 14.
The examination timing for morning shift is from 9 am to 12 noon, and for the afternoon shift, the timing is 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
This year total 2,49,399 candidates will appear the exam. Exams will be held in a total of 792 exam centre. Last year as many as 2,34,809 students appeared the exam. This year number of 14,590 candidates increased.
Noteworthy is that on May 11 exams for Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) will also take place.
On January 6 routine for HSLC exams was issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA). HSLC practical examinations will be held on March 4 and 5 while the theory exams will be held May 11 to June 1, 2021.
However, on January 2 State's Finance, Health, and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his tweet announced the dates for both the HSLC and HS exams. Where he mentioned that Higher Secondary exams will be held from May 12. He wrote on his tweet, "ANNOUNCEMENT HSLC & HS examinations,2021 will be conducted as follows 1. High School leaving certificate examination from 11th May. 2. Higher Secondary examination from 12th May Result of HSLC & HS examinations will be declared within 7th and 30th July respectively."
According to the Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's tweet results for both HSLC and HS exams will be declared within 7th and 30th July respectively.
The Assam government this year distributed over 22 000 free scooties to the girl students under Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Award of Pragyan Bharati scheme who secured first division in HS 2nd year examination under AHSEC in 2020.
Minister Sarma also hoped to distribute over 1 lakh free scooties to the girl students in coming years.
