JAMUGURIHAT: Hiteswar Bora, a resident of Muradal village here, died of hornet sting on Thursday. He was 75. According to information, peasant Bora was cleaning his yard when a swarm of hornets bit him on Wednesday. He was immediately taken to the North Jamuguri BPHC by the family members. After primary treatment, he was released from the hospital. Suddenly, he felt unwell on Thursday morning and he was taken to Tezpur for further treatment but he breathed his last on the way.
He was closely associated with the namghariya system of Jamugurihat. Organizations, including Muradal Village Development Committee, Muradal primary branch of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, Muradal Aai-Matri Samaj, among others paid tribute to Bora. He leaves behind his wife, a son along with a host of relatives.
