Assam: Hojai Police Busts Fake Documents Making Racket, 3 Arrested

Three persons identified as Abdul Ahad, Zakariya Ahmed and Farooq Ahmed, residents of the Nilbagan area were arrested by Hojai police for their connection in making fake documents.

GUWAHATI: A fake documents making racket was busted by the Hojai police team on Saturday during an operation.

Police also apprehended three persons for their alleged involvement and connection in providing fake documents to people.

The arrested trio involved in the racket has been identified as Abdul Ahad, Zakariya Ahmed and Farooq Ahmed, all residents of the Nilbagan area.

Police informed that these people are experts in creating fake documents like PAN cards, Aadhar cards, vehicle registration cards, election cards as well as false RTO payment challans.

Further, police informed that they have been continuously running this business of supplying fake documents to people for the last couple of years without being caught.

On Saturday 30 April, police busted the document forging racket and nabbed the three people during an operation conducted in Hojai.

A total of 99 empty cards along with 17 vehicle registration cards have been seized following the operation by Hojai police.

Apart from these, at least 3 passports, 8 rubber stamps and blank cards are also seized during the operation.

Police found 3 two-wheelers (bikes) and 3 four-wheelers (cars) in the possession of the three arrested and later seized all the vehicles.

Sources claim that all the three were detained from their respective houses located in the Nilbagan area of Assam's Hojai district.

Earlier in one such fake document racket, the Hojai police arrested three from Doboka, Hojai and Morajhar for their connecting in making fake passports.

The incident reported last month brought to light the prevailing fake passport rackets that are thriving in different regions of Assam.

Police recovered fake documents like voter cards, Aadhar cards and at least 25 passports from the possessions of the racketeers identified as Abdul Rahman, Kamaluddin and Gausuddin.
