JAMUGURIHAT:Acting on a tip off, a team of Sootea police, in collaboration with the VDP, Borpam and local people of Samaguri, managed to recover 16 cartons of Arunachal-made liquor, 120 bottles of special brand liquor and 26 cartons of beer from a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number AS 06 J 5155 and apprehended Indra Baruah alias Model, Suraj Baruah on Wednesday evening from Samaguri on the northern part of Sootea.
Some miscreants used to sell Arunachal Pradesh-made liquor in the downstream areas of Assam for a long time. The illegal liquor dealers used to buy Arunachal Pradesh-made liquor at a cheap rate and sell it at high rates in Assam. The police team apprehended one Indra Barua along with his Maruti Alto car in connection with the liquor dealing. Police investigation is on.
