GUWAHATI: Heavy rain falls are said to be witnessed over several districts of Assam on June 8 and 9 as predicted by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD shared the weather forecast for the next 2 days where it says many districts of Assam will be wetted by heavy to very heavy rainfall even though the state has been down poured by heavy rains in the last couple of days.
According to the IMD bulletin, heavy to very heavy rainfall is said to occur in Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Baksa, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Biswanath, Lakhimpur, Darrang, Majuli, Cachar and Karimganj on June 8.
And the places Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Chirang, Barpeta, Nalbari, Cachar and Karimganj are said to get rain falls on June 9.
ASDMA reports that 40,700 people are still being affected in 2 districts due to the flood even though the situation of the flood has remarkably reduced on Sunday. And as per the reports, more than 40,700 people are suffering in Cachar and Morigaon districts.
Morigaon has suffered the worst with 30,400 people being victims and 10,300 in Cachar due to the floods.
Currently, 137 rural areas have been saturated and 6,029.50 hectares of agricultural lands destroyed by it.
