HAFLONG: The Indigenous People’s Forum (IPF), NC Hills, HQ, Haflong, condemned in the strongest term the barbaric and inhumane act that had been meted out to two innocent Kuki-Zo girls and a boy at B. Phainom village, Kangpokpi on May 4 by the Meitei goons. The video got viral in social media. It is hard to watch the video in which two girls belonging to Kuki-Zo tribe had been forced to parade naked amid around 1000 Meitei goons. They tortured the girls in most humiliating way. The way the girls were tortured and humiliated is beyond one’s imagination.

It is a rare type of torturing which in fact is uncalled for. The saddest part of the incident was that one of the two girls was gang-raped in broad day light in front of everyone and her brother who tried to defend his sister was mercilessly killed. “We request the government of Manipur and the government of India to kindly take necessary action without further loss of time to nab all the culprits involved in perpetrating this kind of inhumane act and, to initiate stern legal action against the culprits,” they said.
