Assam: Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0, a special Immunisation drive in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0, a special immunisation drive targeting partially vaccinated or dropout individuals up to children of 5 years and pregnant women will be launched along with rest of the State in Tinsukia beginning on August 7 in 3 rounds ending on October 23.

In a media sensitization programme at DC conference hall on Friday, the District Commissioner Tinsukia Swapneel Paul detailed about programme and the steps initiated in Tinsukia district. He informed that in 1st round target of IMI, 2168 children within the 0-2 years of age, 388 children within age group 2-5 years and 541 pregnant women will be vaccinated.

A total of 242 sessions have been planned in all the 4 health blocks and 1 urban block of Tinsukia district for 1st round, said Paul adding that 92 sub-centres and 109 high focused areas primarily in tea garden belt have been identified. He also requested media persons to identify the target group, if any and assist administration in successful implementation of the mission. The programme was attended by members of print and electronic media, ADC (Health) Chinmoy Pathak, Jt DHS Dr Jayanta Bhattacharjee, DIO Dr Nirod Kr Bora, Mamoon Borkotoky DIPRO, Sangeeta Das DME NHM besides others.
