Assam Issued New SOP To Restart Physical Classes Of Schools, Degree Colleges And Universities

Assam's education minister Ranoj Pegu has informed that physical classes for students studying in classes 1 to 5 will be going to restart from October 19.

Guwahati: The Assam government has issued a Standard operating procedure (SOP) to restart physical classes in the educational institutions of Assam including Degree colleges, Engineering colleges, Polytechnics, Teacher Training Colleges, Universities etc.

Assam's education minister Ranoj Pegu has informed that physical classes for students studying in classes 1 to 5 will be going to restart from October 19.

"SOP has been issued to restart physical classes in the educational institutions of Assam. Classes for LP (I to V) will restart from 19th Oct", Pegu said.

He said classes of 5 to 8 will restart from the same day the classes of 1 to 5 are going to be restart.

"Classes of UP (V to VIII) will restart from 19th Oct", he said.

However, physical classes for class 11 are going to be started from October 1st along with Degree colleges, Engineering colleges, Polytechnics, Teacher Training Colleges, Universities.

"For class IX, physical classes will start from 1st Oct. For Class XI, it will start from 19th Oct on day to day basis. Degree colleges, Engineering colleges, Polytechnics, Teacher Training Colleges, Universities etc. shall function normally as per academic calendar from 1st Oct", minister Pegu said.

Earlier, The State Education Department has sought professional details of the PG (Post Graduate) teachers working in various Elementary and Secondary-level (up to Class-X) government and provincialised schools across Assam. The information has been sought within September 28. In this regard, the Director of 'Samagra Siksha, Assam' – Dhruba Jyoti Das has written a letter to the IS (Inspectors of Schools), DEEOs (District Elementary Education Officers, and the District Mission Coordinators.
