JAGIROAD: The Jagiroad Railway Station will get a facelift under the Amrit Bharat Project. The station will be given an airport-like look, said Prabir Bhowmick, station superintendent of Jagiroad Railway Station. He in this connection called upon all to attend the video conference on August 6 at Jagiroad Railway Station which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The people of the area have expressed the hope that the district administration will look into the matter of ensuring a healthy environment surrounding the station, especially the unplanned dry fish market which causes an unhealthy atmosphere near the station. People also expressed the hope that the dying eco-social status of Jagiroad, after the closure of Nagaon Paper Mill, would be revived to a certain extent. They also expect the upgrade of the station to cater to the needs of railway passengers here.
