DIBRUGARH: The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) came down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for not taking any action against corruption.

Addressing a press conference at Greater Dibrugarh Press Club, AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi on Thursday said, “It is clear that the Himanta Biswa Sarma led-BJP is supporting corruption because the government didn’t act against the corruption. During direct recruitment government examination, money was taken from people for giving them jobs. The whole thing has been come to light after the suicide of BJP leader Indrani Tahbildar. The epicentre of the job scam is BJP’s headquarter Vajpaye Bhawan in Guwahati.”

“The recovery of fake job exam identity cards by police at the residence of BJP leaders prove their involvement. The IT cell of BJP was also involved in the corruption,” Gogoi alleged.

He said, “In all the departments, including Assam Police, Agriculture, P & RD, and the forest department, there is corruption in the recruitment process.”

He further said, “Why is the Chief Minister silent on the matter. We also demand that those who get jobs, their roll numbers and marks should be made public. Some of the candidates have filed RTI to know about their result but till date they have not got any reply. Many BJP leaders are involved in this racket. Why is the government playing with the lives of the youth?”

He added, “We demand judicial inquiry. The government which is always busy in beating the development drum,is involved in neck-deep corruption.”
