Assam: Kacharihat Primary Health Centre of Dhubri opens

DHUBRI : The newly-constructed Kacharihat Primary Health Centre of Dhubri was opened for patients recently. The facility, initially envisioned as a crucial healthcare hub for the Dhubri district, had languished in a state of neglect for five years. This health centre is aimed at serving the health care services to nearly 15,000 people of Kacharihat Gaon Panchayat, a source in medical health department said.

Construction of Kacharihat Primary Health Centre commenced on March 1, 2014 and same was handed over to the health department of Dhubri on October 26, 2018.

However, the non-functional medical facilities of crucial sections, including the Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient Department (IPD), as well as the nurse’s and doctor’s quarters, were found in a state of despair. As alleged, quarters meant for doctors and paramedical staff was occupied by a homeless individual for a long period.

However, president of Kacharihat Gaon Panchayat, Nur Zamal, Dhubri Joint Director of Health Services, Dr.J.B.Roy, and Dhubri legislstor, Nazrul Haque by putting collective effort, made a way to open health centre.
