Assam: Kali Puja observed in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: Kali Puja was observed in Dibrugarh with lots of enthusiasm. People were seen thronging Kali Puja mandap to offer prayers and to take blessings from the Goddess Kali. One of the unique Kali puja in Dibrugarh, Dash Mata Kali Puja was performed with traditional rituals at Barbari railway colony in Dibrugarh on Monday morning. Devotees gathered at the puja mandap to offer prayers. This year Sri Sri Dash Mata Kali Puja was celebrating its 43rd year. It was organized by Agragami Balak Samity.

“Our puja was observed in morning because it is Chandi Kali and the puja of Chandi Kali was done during morning following traditional rituals. For the last 42 years, we are celebrating our puja in this place. It is one of the unique puja in Dibrugarh and people from different places come here to take blessings of Maa Kali,” said Dulal Das, president of Dash Mata Kali Puja Committee. Most of the Kali Puja committees in Dibrugarh have taken natural themes and local artisans were engaged to make the puja pandal.
