Assam: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Gunotsav, 2023 concludes

Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), who holds the portfolio of the Education department, Richard Tokbi, initiated the three-day Gunotsav of KAAC.

HOWRAGHAT: Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), who holds the portfolio of the Education department, Richard Tokbi, initiated the three-day Gunotsav of KAAC. He is working on a mission to fine-tune the government schools from Class I to Class X of both autonomous districts. Higher and primary education segments are under the administrative jurisdiction of the council.

Tokbi visited Sonai Rongchehon ME School near Diphu to take part in the evaluation exercise on the concluding day. Right from hoisting the national tricolour, he assessed the proceedings of the morning assembly which began with the singing of the national anthem. He keenly observed activities like stretching exercises, prayer songs, the thought of the day, and short speech on the life history of great persons.

The evaluation was conducted on subjects like literature (Assamese, English, Hindi), Mathematics, Environmental Science etc. In the maiden Gunotsav of the council, 1,25,769 students enrolled in 1,953 schools were assessed. In West Karbi Anglong, 80,383 students registered in 1,263 schools; and in the Karbi Anglong district, 45,386 students in 690 schools were assessed. Around 1,202 external evaluators took part in this large-scale evaluation procedure.
