GAURISAGAR: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra(KVK) , Sivasagar, launched an advanced agricultural technology operated by IFCO Krishan Co. Ltd. at Nakatani Kalugaon on the outskirt of Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district under Jakaichuk Red Rice Farmers Producer Company on Thursday. IFCO Senior Manager Suraj Kumar Sinha, in the presence of Kishore Rabha,District Development Manager(DDM) NABARD, Sivasagar , Dr. Arundhati Bardoloi, Chief Scientist,KVK,Sivasagar and other officials of KVK officially cut the ribbon and inaugurated the project funded by NABARD in the paddy field of Polash Dohotia.
The technology will collect weather forecasts, soil quality, moisture, fertilizer application, pesticides, and crop diseases within a radius of two kilometers in the region and disseminate them to farmers through a special app, informed NABARD’s Assm Region Chief General Manager (CGM) Naveen Dhingra who also officially launched the packaging brand of Red Bao rice and Keteky Joha (Sugandhi) rice produced by Jakaichuk Red Rice Farmers Production Company and Mung Dung Farmers Producer Company at a meeting held at GauriSagar Bahumukhi Prakalpa Bhawan. CGM Dhingra expressed hope that the brand will capture the global market due to its super quality and nutritional value. The CGM also distributed loan sanctions letter to 113 farmers, an amount of 7.5 crore comprising SHG, JLG, KCC and MUDRA through Assam Grameen Vikas Bank(AGVB).
