GORESWAR: The Lai Khuta of the 61st Raax Festival of Goreswar was formally erected by local MLA Bhabesh Kalita on Wednesday at a mass gathering of Goreswar Raax reception committee and local people.
Erecting the Lai khuta, the local MLA as well as State BJP president Bhabesh Kalita asked the public in general to extend helping hands to observe the festival which will be celebrated from November 26 with a 12 day-long programme as a mark of grand success.
He also assured a financial assistance for a permanent Hari temple to observe the festival with pomp and gaiety for the Hindu devotees of the greater Goreswar area.
Mahesh Bora, president of Goreswar Mandal BJP committee, Jagannath Sarma, senior citizen of Goreswar, Dhananjay Basumatary, Hemen Bhagawati, Jayram Das, Suren chandra Boro, members of reception committee and its sub-committees along with local people were present in the programme.
