Assam: Lakhimpur District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan receives award

Lakhimpur District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, and Executive Officer of North Lakhimpur Municipal Board (NLMB) Casio Karan Pegu, have managed to achieve “Karmashree-The Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration,” for the year 2022-23, stated an order by Governor Notification, issued vide No. ART-14025/1/2023/173.

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, and Executive Officer of North Lakhimpur Municipal Board (NLMB) Casio Karan Pegu, have managed to achieve “Karmashree-The Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration,” for the year 2022-23, stated an order by Governor Notification, issued vide No. ART-14025/1/2023/173.

They have achieved the honour for their success in effective implementation of a unique and aspiring project named “Rehabilitation of Solid Waste at North Lakhimpur Municipal Board. They have been honoured with the award in the interest of public service and on the occasion of Lok Kalyan Divas in Assam to be held on August 5, the notification further said.

Both administrative officers will receive the award on Saturday in a ceremonial programme to be held for the distribution of the Karmashree Award in connection with the celebration of the Lok Kalyan Divas, on Saturday at 10.30am, at Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra, Panjabari, Guwahati. The award will be presented by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Casio Karan Pegu is a 2017 Batch ACS and is currently serving as SDO of Lakhimpur Sadar.

According to the same notification, the other Karmashree awardees are Pulak Mahanta, ACS and group members Keshabananda Taid, ACS and Irshad Ali, SDAO for ‘Amar Majuli’, Anamika Tewari, ACS and her group members Ajanta Sharma, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Hemanta Kalita, Assistant Labour Commissioner (HQ) and Ishanu Shah, Deputy Labour Commissioner for ‘Ease of Doing Business’, Ranjit Kumar Buragohain, BDO, Dibrugarh (Individual) for ‘Model Housing Colony under PMAY-G’ Masanda Magdalin Pertin, IAS and her group members Banti Talukdar, ACS and Dulal Das, DAO for ‘Project Krishok Vardhan’ and Tejas Mariswamy, IFS and his group members Uttamananda Goswami, ACF, Arabinda Deka, RO and Sachin Rajkumar, Forester Grade-I for ‘Promoting Eco-tourism in Borail Wildlife Sanctuary’.
