LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur district administration, in association with the government departments of the district, celebrated the District Day on Monday in a befitting manner. In this connection, a ceremonial programme was held in the conference hall of the Office of the Inspector of Schools, Lakhimpur.
Speaking on the occasion District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan threw light on the achievements of the district which the people of the district have experienced and witnessed since October 2, on which the district was declared. He also highlighted the developmental activities being implemented in the district in the current days with success. Noted academician-columnist Dr. Mukunda Rajbanshi graced the occasion as appointed speaker. In connection with his lecture, Dr. Rajbanshi pointed out several fields of the district to be enhanced in the upcoming days. He expressed satisfaction over the overwhelming academic development in the district during the past years. Bihpuria MLA Dr. Amiya Kumar Bhuyan also spoke on the occasion. In the same programme, district administration feted a notable number of achievers of various fields in the district including the meritorious students who managed to grab ranks in HSLC and HS exams. Prizes were also given away to the winners of the various competitions, organized by the government departments of the district.
