Assam: Lakhimpur student selected for Children’s Science Congress

A brilliant student of Lakhimpur, Astha Saikia has brought laurels to the district by shining in the 31st State Level Children’s Science Congress, 2023, held at Don Bosco HS School and District Library premises, Haflong in Dima Hasao district.

LAKHIMPUR: A brilliant student of Lakhimpur, Astha Saikia has brought laurels to the district by shining in the 31st State Level Children’s Science Congress, 2023, held at Don Bosco HS School and District Library premises, Haflong in Dima Hasao district. The emerging child scientist is the daughter of Dr. Nripen Saikia and Gayatri Devi, inhabitants of Lilabari under the district. She is a Class VII student at St. Mary’s High School, North Lakhimpur.

Astha’s project is among the list of 26 selected child scientists from across Assam who will further participate at the National Level Children’s Science Congress to be held in Gujarat. In the 31st State Level Children’s Science Congress, 2023, Astha presented an innovative project on “Herbal face Serum from Elephant Apple (Delinia Indica)” by conducting a research level study on the the subject. Lakhimpur District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, Lakhimpur District Children’s Science Academy president Benudhar Saikia, Inspector of Schools Hem Chandra Saikia, the whole family of St. Mary’s School and people of Lakhimpur district appreciated Astha Saikia for her commendable success. Notably, the 18 membered Lakhimpur district team of the child scientists participated in the 31st State Level Children’s Science Congress, 2023 under the leadership of Coordinator Jajnoram Borah, Academic Coordinator Dr. Nikhil Hazarika, Escorting Teachers Gayatri Devi and Biman Hundique.
