Assam; Litterateur Rabin Chaudhury remembered

The 12th death anniversary of litterateur, former Principal, Doomdooma College, Rabin Chaudhury was held on Thursday at the DSXX Bhaban with president Bimala Baruah in the chair. In the beginning president Bimala Baruah lit the ceremonial lamp in front of his portrait followed by a song performed by noted singer Anamika Lahkar.

DOOMDOOMA: The 12th death anniversary of litterateur, former Principal, Doomdooma College, Rabin Chaudhury was held on Thursday at the Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) Bhaban with president Bimala Baruah in the chair. In the beginning president Bimala Baruah lit the ceremonial lamp in front of his portrait followed by a song performed by noted singer Anamika Lahkar.

The tribute programme was attended by Arjun Baruah, former president, Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha (TZXX), Karabi Bora, Associate Professor, Doomdooma College, Director of Dipti Nrityalaya Dipti Gohain, Treasurer Dinesh Goel and others.

Attending the programme as appointed speaker Manoj Dutta, Assistant Professor, Doomdooma College spoke about the life and achievements of litterateur Chaudhury. Mentioning about Chaudhury’s writing style he said that his book “Beli je jai’ - and similar such books on Doomdooma could be source of research about past history of the region. Arjun Baruah, former TZXX president spoke about his closeness with Chaudhury.

The programme which was anchored by branch secretary Deben Deka, concluded with the performance of the national anthem.
