Assam: Man Accused Of Murder Allegedly Burnt Alive In Nagaon District

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a man accused of murder was allegedly burnt alive during a public hearing in the in Assam's Nagaon district.

As per reports, the incident took place during a public hearing, on Saturday, when the man identified as Ranjit Bordoloi, a resident of Bor Lalung Gaowas accused of murdering a woman.

The woman reportedly died under unnatural circumstances a few days back.

Since the accused was found guilty of the murder, a group of people took the matter into their own hands and burn the man alive. They also buried the corpse.

After receiving the information of the same, the police immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the body and also detained some people in connection with the incident.

Speaking over the same, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), M Das, asserted that the incident took place on Saturday evening following which the police team reached the spot.

''The body was recovered under the supervision of the district magistrate. After retrieving the body, it was observed that 90% of the corpse was already in a burnt condition,'' he added.
