Assam : Man Chops Wife To Death, Gets Arrested

The episode took place in Morigaon's Sukdal Sarubari area.

GUWAHATI : A heinous incident took place in Assam's Morigaon district on 7th of January, Saturday. A man chopped his wife to death with an axe on early hours of Saturday. 

The episode took place in Morigaon's Sukdal Sarubari area. According to sources, the accused husband has been identified as Munia Heera. The police revealed the deceased victim as Kamini Heera.

Munia stabbed her multiple times, following a heated argument with his wife. People from the neighbourhood stated that the duo used to have verbal fights quite often, which also turns into a physical fight sometimes.

The locals accused both the party equally for accusing each other frequently. The fight turned ugly on Saturday, as a result of which a furious Munia killed his wife with an axe. She was critically injured during the assault and died before getting any medical treatment.

Although Munia tried to escape the situation, the locals nabbed him at the spot of incident. He is currently under police custody, however, further investigation is on.

A similar incident took place in West Bengal's Siliguri town. A man chopped his wife into two pieces and dumped the body parts in a canal. West Bengal police managed to arrest the accused on 5th January.

The man admitted his crime during the interrogation process, as stated by the police. However, he confessed it after 10 long days since his wife went missing. The deceased victim has been identified as Renuka Khatun.

The accused had suspected Renuka was involved in some sort of illicit affair. The criminal has been identified as Md Ansarul. Meanwhile, the department has initiated a search operation, in an attempt to recover the chopped body parts. Police has taken the help of divers to complete the task.
