Assam: Man Murders Sister and Injures Mother in Property-Related Clash

The injured mother was moved to the Diphu Civil Hospital from the Lumding Hospital for better medical care.

LUMDING: A bizarre incident took place in the state of Assam when a man attacked his mother and his sister with a dao leading to the death of the sister.

The incident took place in the Balunala locality of the South Lumding Panchayat region of the state. Sita Das, the sister of the attacker, died because of the attack while their mother Kalpana Das was seriously injured during the attack by her son Narayan Das. Kalpana Das was moved to the Diphu Civil Hospital from the Lumding Hospital for better medical care.

Meanwhile, a team from Lumding Police along with the Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Hojai district visited the location. The attacker, Narayan Das was taken into custody by Lumding Police after he tried to flee after committing the crime. The local villages managed to overpower him and handed him over to the police team.

It was mentioned that the incident was the result of family-related problems and property-related issues. Narayan Das reportedly attacked his mother first, and when his sister stepped into the the scene to protect their mother, he attacked her as well. As a result, she received fatal injuries, causing her death.

In a different case, the body of a 17-year-old girl was recovered from the residence of one Moni Rajwar at Dhekeri Gaon in the Banipur area of Dibrugarh on Sunday night. The minor girl was found hanging in her room from a ceiling fan but when the police reached the spot, her body was lying on the bed. It is suspected that the minor girl was raped and murdered. Police arrested four persons in connection with the murder of the girl. The accused have been identified as Biswajit Bakti, Kishore Bauri, Rohit Rabi Das alias Naga and Lohit Deka.
