Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh organizes workshop on hypertension

DIBRUGARH : The Department of Community Medicine, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, organised a Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop on hypertension at Assam Medical College, which was sponsored by the National Academy of Medical Science (NAMS), India. The CME was addressed by the Principal Cum Chief Superintendent, Prof. Sanjeeb Kakati. A key note address was given by Prof. FU Ahmed, Convenor of the North East Region, National Academy of Medical Science (NAMS), New Delhi.

Prof. Anand Krishnan, Centre of Community Medicine, AIIMS New Delhi; Prof. Hem Chandra Kalita, Department of Cardiology, AMC Dibrugarh; Prof. Tulika Goswami Mahanta, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, AMC Dibrugarh; Prof. Binod Sarmah, Head of the Department of Neurology, AMC Dibrugarh; Dr. Gorangie Gogoi, Professor of Community Medicine; Dr. Nabajyoti Gogoi, Health Officer, RHTC Chabua; and specialists from other clinical departments mentioned different aspects of hypertension. The CME was attended by 90 delegates from various departments of Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, the district NCD cell, doctors from the tea garden sector, and a rural health training centre.
