Assam: Meeting held to review progress of welfare schemes

An important meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) presided over by Mangaldai Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia on Tuesday, reviewed the progress of the development and welfare schemes under 37 different subjects executed by respective government agencies.

MANGALDAI: An important meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) presided over by Mangaldai Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia on Tuesday, reviewed the progress of the development and welfare schemes under 37 different subjects executed by respective government agencies.

On the basis of the audio-visual presentations displayed by the meeting assessed the graph of the progress of the schemes and performance of the relevant government agencies, including P & RD, Agriculture, Health and Family Welfare, PHE etc as a whole. MP Saikia insisted on quality of execution and timely completion of works so that the real goal of benefiting the needy and marginalized sections of the society could be achieved within a time frame.

The meeting also discussed the rescue and relief measures for the people affectedby the ongoing flood wave particularly due to sudden breach of a dyke of River Nonoi at village Duwaripara-Janaseva under Patharighat Revenue Circle of Sipajhar on Monday night.

Legislators from Mangaldai, Sipajhar, Dalgaon and Kalaigaon, District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey, District Development Commissioner Pankaj Deka , CEO of Darrang Zila Parishad Manash Das and all the district heads of the relevant departments attended the meeting.
