Assam Minister inaugurates training session for Orunodoi scheme

Goalpara: State Finance and Social Welfare minister as well as the Guardian Minister of the Goalpara district, Ajanta Neog on Friday formally inaugurated in Goalpara town the training session for the 'Verification Teams' and 'Supervisors' for the ongoing 'Orunodoi' beneficiary scheme in the state. During her address, she emphasized honesty and dedication of the trainees to make the Orunodoi scheme a successful one. "Through this scheme, we aim to uplift the economic conditions of the families reeling under poverty and for this a database and proper survey is required," she said. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Khanindra Choudhury gave the inaugural speech and informed the house that 93 supervisors and 472 verification team members would undertake the training to prepare the list of the actual and deserving beneficiaries. In another programme, the minister inaugurated a 'Pension Sewa Kendra' at the DEEO office for the employees facing different types of difficulties post-retirement.
