Assam: Minister Jogen Mohan distributes ration cards to beneficiaries in Dibrugarh

State Revenue and Disaster Management minister Jogen Mohan formally launched the ration cards distribution programme in Dibrugarh on Thursday.

DIBRUGARH: State Revenue and Disaster Management minister Jogen Mohan formally launched the ration cards distribution programme in Dibrugarh on Thursday. As many as 5,248 families in the Khowang assembly constituency and 11,195 in Dibrugarh assembly constituency received ration cards under National Food Security Scheme. Mohan urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of other public welfare schemes of the central and state governments.

He expressed that the present government has given special priority to women empowerment. Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Bikram Kairi said that the beneficiaries can change the fair price shops currently mentioned in the ration cards as per their convenience.

Kairi urged every beneficiary who gets a ration card today to contact the health workers to get the Ayushman Bharat card or go to the nearest Ayushman Bharat card distribution centre.

Union Minister Rameshwar Teli, Dibrugarh MLA Prashanta Phukan,  Additional District Commissioner Jintu Bora and a large number of government officials, beneficiaries were present at the ration card distribution ceremony held at Mancotta field in Dibrugarh under the initiative of Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department.
