Bongaigaon: On Thursday night, an 18-day-old baby was kidnapped from a sleeping mother in a tragic incident in Bongaigaon.
The mother alleged that the baby was missing from the bed when she woke up in the morning on Friday morning and was nowhere to be found.
It has been suspected that the 18-day-old baby had been stolen by some miscreants on Thursday night when the mother and the baby were fast asleep.
This incident happened in the Bongaigaon's Nankar village in Assam on Thursday.
The mother has filed an FIR at the police station. Investigation on this case is still underway.
In other news, the State government has been held responsible by the Sadou Asom Beton Bonchito Kormoroto Pathamik Shikshak Santhafor the death of teacher, Ainul Haque of Kawaitari gaon in Bongaingaon district.
Santha's president Hemanjali Bhuyan Dutta and general secretary Basanta Neog alleged that many teachers have died due to lack of proper treatment as they were not been given their salaries. "The State government, be it of the Congress or of the BJP, only gives assurances of regularizing our jobs. All these teachers working without salaries are also deprived of all government schemes and facilities as the government treats us as government employees," Bhuyan said.
