Assam: Muslim Youth Hurt Hindu Religious Sentiment, Uploads Objectionable Photo on Social Media

The accused, identified as one Abbas Khan, of late has uploaded a photo on social media in which he is seen keeping one of his legs on the head of Lord Ganesh.

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, an Assam Muslim youth hurt the Hindu religious sentiment by dishonouring Lord Ganesha.

The incident happened at the West Karbi Anglong district near Nagaon. The accused, identified as one Abbas Khan, of late has uploaded a photo on social media in which he is seen keeping one of his legs on the head of Lord Ganesh.

He posed to capture the objectionable photo at Tengalangso in the West Karbi Anglong. The Lord Ganesh photo is on a stream in Tengalangso and the locals offer prayers to the deity.

They have constructed a Lord Ganesh Temple in the place. The temple committee has decided to file a case against him in the Baithalangso police station.

The office-bearers of the temple said that the act of the youth can not be tolerated.

In other news, Bangladesh Police has finally managed to nab the prime accused in the Durga Puja violence case. According to reports, Ikbal Hossain has been accused of placing a copy of the Quran at a Durga Puja pandal in Comilla was finally arrested by the police in Bangladesh from Cox's Bazar on October 21 night.

Earlier, the police had identified the 35-year-old man, whose action triggered communal violence in Bangladesh, by analysing CCTV footage retrieved from surveillance cameras installed outside the pandal in Comilla.
