NAGAON: A shameful incident was reported from Assam's Nagaon as an 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped multiple times by her father in Assam's Nagaon district.
Based on the complaint lodged by the minor girl's mother, the accused father was arrested on Tuesday following which he was produced before a court on Wednesday and the court ordered the accused to be sent to judicial custody.
According to police sources, the accused man allegedly raped his minor daughter last on September 20 at their home in Longjap under the Kachua police station area in Nagaon.
"The accused father fled the house after committing the crime. Hearing the whole incident, the girl's mother approached locals but failed to get a proper response. She later lodged a complaint with the police on September 27", said a senior police official.
Upon receiving the complaint, the local police immediately swung into action and arrested the man on the same day itself, informed the same police officer.
The mother of the minor told the cops that her husband had earlier also raped his daughter and was even arrested for the crime but was spared as he was later released on bail.
After the bail, he again continued his monstrosity upon his daughter as she was raped almost every day by him. The mother tried hard to stop him but the accused proved stronger.

According to a recent survey, 94 percent of the sex offenders were known to the victims and every fourth victim was found to be a minor.
