NAGAON: One Iqbal Hussain, a youth of Gendhuwa Pothar near Nagaon Batadrova Than, who worked in Bengaluru for quite some time, was arrested from his house on Wednesday by a team of Odisha CID for alleged involvement in anti-national activities.
Sources claimed that Odisha CID registered a case under the IT Act against the youth for allegedly sharing data as well as internal information with a Pakistani youth named Abdul Haleem. The arrested youth was quizzed for long at Nagaon Jajori PS, sources said, adding that he would be taken back to the CID headquarters in Odisha soon after completing legal formalities in a local court here.
While speaking to this correspondent, Nagaon SP Navaneet Mahanta said that a CID team from Odisha asked for the cooperation of Nagaon police to arrest the youth, against whom a case under the IT Act was registered by Odisha CID. Accordingly, the local Jajori PS police cooperated with the CID team to trace the youth while he was hiding at his Batadrova Gandhuwa pothar-based residence here.
