SIVASAGAR: Rotary Club is one of the most prominent organizations in the world for playing a leading role in eradicating epidemic polio from the world and in protecting children and women’s health as well as public welfare practices.
Along with the rest of the world, 3240 Rotary Club of Sivasagar branch has been working for the welfare of the society by undertaking various public welfare schemes in the district. It is informed that the Rotary Club of Sivasagar is working to set up a blood bank at Sivasagar Civil Hospital which will be opened to the public soon. The 28th charge-taking ceremony of the Rotary Club of Sivasagar for the year 2023-2024 was held on July 9, where the new committee was sworn in. It is to be noted that Dr Mohan Shyam Konwar, former District Governor of 3240 Rotary Club administered the oath to the new committee formed with ONGC official PK Das as president and former bank officer Manab Kumar Baruah as secretary. Khalilur Rahman Hazarika, general secretary of Sibsagar Press Club was felicitated at the solemn ceremony attended by the members and families of the Sivasagar Rotary Club.
While taking charge, new president PK Das informed the house in the context of his speech that he would give speeches in Assamese language in the meeting from today and requested all the members to deliver their speeches in Assamese.
