Assam: New school building inaugurated in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: Eminent scholar, historian, academician and a former journalist Dr Nagendra Nath Sarma on Sunday ceremonially inaugurated the new school building of Children Home Model School, a private sector academic institution under CBSE at Block Chowk, Kamarpara near Mangaldai. A large number of guardians and well wishers besides the teaching staff and a number of leading citizens attended the function. In the function the foundation of the proposed multi storied school building was also laid.
Addressing the function, Dr Nagendra Nath Sarma, former legislator and HoD of Political Science of Mangaldai College appreciated the spirit and initiative of businessman Pinku Moni Das and his wife Kabita Saikia Das for smoothly managing the school since 2017. He in his speech appealed all the concerned particularly the teachers to continue their initiative to shape and mould the students in the right direction. Principal of Mangaldai College Dr Kamala Kanta Borah, danseuse of repute Bhanu Deka Saharia, Executive Engineer of Zila Parishad Bhaben Barman, national award for Teacher recipient Shashangka Hazarika and media person Bhargab Kr Das addressed the function. The school authority also offered felicitation to social activist Shekhar Mazumdar, journalist Ganesh Dutta, Mohini Goswami and others.
